eWebstercare – MedsComm®, will streamline communication between the Pharmacy, Aged Care Home and Medical Practitioner. This allows each member of the care team access to view the current medication data via a secure internet connection. The secure server contains the information that is stored in the Webstercare Software at the pharmacy.
The ordering component also allows electronic messages to be sent between the Medical Practitioner, Nursing staff and Pharmacy making it quicker and easier to send a request, action a request, and track the progress of any requests that have been made.
Medical Practitioners can access the medication information stored in the Webstercare software from their surgery or home, and communicate directly with the Pharmacy or Aged Care Home.
Nurses have the ability to reorder medication eg PRN and Non Packed items, electronically providing a clear tracking system of what has been requested, and completed. Nurses at change of shift, can see what was ordered on the previous shift and what they are to expect in the next delivery. This can save a signifi cant amount of time through minimising duplicate orders and phone calls.
Pharmacy staff will action each request and be able to track requests without having to rely on a fax machine or a telephone message.
The eWebstercare – Electronic Ordering component is an exciting development and is available now to be used by pharmacies and Aged Care Homes.
